Willing to acquire new exhibitors? A few tips…

You have some spare time and would like to search for new exhibitors? The obvious way for you is to contact exhibitors directly:

-          First, think about which tradeshows you would like to find exhibitors at: some stand builders will accept whatever exhibitors regardless of the time the tradeshows occur and where they take place, or regardless of the industry

-          In contrast, some other stand builders will try to think more strategically by focusing on a few tradeshows occurring at some time they have usually less activity, or some verticals where they have built some expertise on, which enable to differentiate them from standard stand builders (e.g. they concentrate on the automotive tradeshows, or on medical tradeshows, or on wine tradeshows, etc.), or at some places they are close from, etc.

Sales Funnel Find New Exhibitors-          Some other stand builders will prefer searching for new exhibitors at tradeshows they will be building some stands already, as a way to leverage their logistics, transport and staff costs

-          When you are clear what tradeshows you would like to find new exhibitors at, then go to the tradeshow’s websites and start qualifying exhibitors:

  • Most of the tradeshows’ organizers will display a list of exhibitors for the coming tradeshow (in absence, you can often find a list of exhibitors for the previous tradeshow)
  • If you are lucky, you will be able to find complete exhibitors info, including their company address, phone number, email address, contact name, company size, etc. Just copy-paste those info into an Excel worksheet and start qualifying the relevant exhibitors: for instance, you may remove exhibitors, which you know will never become your clients (too big, or too small, or already contacted, or from a country origin, which is not relevant to you, etc.)
  • If you are unlucky, you will have to find manually all those missing info, or recoup the missing with your existing database

-          When you have selected exhibitors which are on your target profile, you can start contacting them: email, phone, letter, fax are all valuable new acquisition methods
